Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal data CourierSpeed collects when you get a price or book a van, why, who we share it with and your rights.

Last updated: October 2026.

Who we are

CourierSpeed is the controller of your personal data. Our company details are at the foot of every page. Contact us about your data at bookings@courierspeed.co.uk.

What we collect

  • When you get a price: the postcodes or towns you enter, the van and date you choose, the page you were on, and a short-lived record of your IP address to stop abuse of the price checker.
  • When you book: names, phone numbers and addresses for collection and delivery, your email address, a description and value of the goods, and your delivery preferences.
  • When you pay: Stripe handles your card details. We never see or store your full card number. We only receive the payment status.
  • On the day: when the job is collected and delivered, and a photo of the delivered goods.
  • When you contact us: what you tell us.

Why we use it

  • To price, book, carry out and track your delivery, and to send you updates by email and text. Lawful basis: performing our contract with you.
  • To keep accounting and VAT records. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse, and to improve our prices and service using quote records. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in running a safe, fairly priced service.

We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

  • Drivers and partner couriers who carry out your job get the collection and delivery details they need.
  • Service providers who process data for us: Cloudflare (website hosting and storage), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Twilio (text messages), Telegram (job alerts to our dispatch team), Smartsheet (job records), postcodes.io (looking up postcodes), Mapbox (road distances) and Google Fonts (the website's fonts, which sends your IP address to Google).
  • Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards recognised by UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK-US data bridge.

How long we keep it

  • Bookings and payment records: 6 years, for tax and accounting.
  • Delivery photos: 12 months.
  • Quotes that didn't become bookings: 2 years.
  • IP address records for abuse prevention: a few minutes.

Cookies and storage

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Stripe sets cookies on the payment step to prevent fraud, and Cloudflare may set a security cookie; both are strictly necessary. If you switch prices to "ex VAT", that choice is saved on your device only.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format. Email bookings@courierspeed.co.uk. We'll reply within one month. Some data we must keep by law, such as payment records.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
