CourierSpeed

Terms and conditions

These terms apply to every booking made on courierspeed.co.uk. Please read them before you book. If anything is unclear, email bookings@courierspeed.co.uk before you book and we'll explain.

Last updated: October 2026.

1. Who we are

CourierSpeed is a same-day van courier service. Our company name, number and registered office are shown at the foot of every page of this website. "We" and "us" means CourierSpeed. "You" means the person or business making the booking.

2. Your booking

  1. A booking is made when you complete the booking form and authorise the card hold. We then confirm a driver, usually within 10 minutes for ready-now jobs and within two working hours for planned jobs.
  2. The contract between us starts when we confirm a driver and take the payment. If we can't confirm a driver, we release the hold on your card, the booking ends and you pay nothing.
  3. You must give us accurate collection and delivery details, contact numbers for both ends and an honest description and value of the goods. If the details you give change the job (for example a different postcode, more goods or a bigger van), we may need to change the price or decline the job.
  4. We may carry out your job with our own vans or with a vetted partner courier. Either way these terms apply, and you deal only with us.

3. Prices and payment

  1. The price shown when you book is the price you pay. It includes VAT, fuel and cover up to £250, with no booking fee. Extra cover for a higher declared value is shown and added before you pay.
  2. Prices depend on the road distance, the van size and how you book: ready now, plan ahead or route day.
  3. When you book we place a hold on your card for the full amount. We only take the payment once a driver is confirmed. If we can't confirm one, we cancel the hold. Your bank decides how quickly a cancelled hold disappears from your statement, usually within a few days.
  4. Every booking gets a receipt by email. Business customers can ask us for a VAT invoice.

4. Ready now, plan ahead and route days

  1. Ready now: we send a van as soon as we can. Collection times we give are estimates.
  2. Plan ahead: we collect on the date you choose, from the time you choose.
  3. Route day: our van is already going to that postcode area on that weekday and your goods share the van. The window is all day. We text a two-hour slot the evening before. Route days have limited space and must be booked by 16:00 the day before.
  4. Journey times we show are estimates based on normal traffic. We're not responsible for delays caused by things outside our control, such as accidents, road closures, severe weather or breakdowns, but we'll keep you informed.

5. Collection and delivery

  1. Please have the goods packed, labelled and ready at the door, reception or loading bay at the collection time.
  2. The driver will load and unload what one person can safely lift. Anything heavier needs a second person at each end, or tell us when you book.
  3. Allow up to 15 minutes at each end. If a longer wait is needed, the driver will ask first, and any extra charge will be agreed with you before it applies.
  4. If nobody is available to take the delivery, we'll call the delivery contact. If you ticked "leave in a safe place" we'll leave the goods somewhere sensible and photograph them; our responsibility for the goods ends once they are left. Otherwise we'll bring the goods back to the collection address or our depot, and agree any extra journey charge with you.
  5. We photograph every delivery. The photo is on your tracking page.

6. What we don't carry

We don't carry glass, china, art, antiques, jewellery, watches, precious metals or stones, furs, cash or vouchers, prescription drugs, fragile or perishable goods, spirits or tobacco, firearms, flammable or dangerous goods, animals or documents of title. You confirm none of these are in your consignment when you book. If we find they are, we may refuse to carry it, and our cover won't apply to them.

7. Packing

Pack goods so they survive a normal van journey: boxed or wrapped, secured and labelled with the delivery address. We may refuse goods that are unsafe to carry or likely to damage other goods or the van.

8. Cover, loss and damage

  1. Every job includes cover up to £250 for loss of or damage to the goods while we have them.
  2. You can declare a higher value, up to £100,000, when you book. The cost of the extra cover is shown before you pay. For higher values, call us before booking.
  3. If goods are lost or damaged while we have them, we'll pay the lower of the cost of repair, the replacement value and the declared value (or £250 if you didn't declare a higher value).
  4. Cover doesn't apply to goods we don't carry (section 6), to damage caused by poor packing, or once goods are left in a safe place at your request.
  5. Please tell us within 24 hours of delivery if anything is damaged, with photos, and within 7 days if anything is missing. Late notice makes it harder for us to investigate.

9. Cancelling

  1. Before we confirm a driver: cancel any time, free. We release the hold on your card.
  2. Plan ahead and route day jobs, after a driver is confirmed: free until 16:00 on the working day before collection, with a full refund. After that, we refund half the price.
  3. Ready now jobs, after a driver is confirmed: we refund the price minus a fair charge for the van's time and miles already spent, which we'll tell you when you cancel. Once the van has arrived to collect, the full price is payable.
  4. If you're a consumer: because each booking is for the transport of goods on a specific date, the 14-day cancellation period in the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 doesn't apply (regulation 28). Your other statutory rights are not affected.
  5. We may cancel a booking if we can't do it safely or legally. If we do, you get a full refund.

10. Our responsibility to you

  1. We carry out our services with reasonable care and skill.
  2. Except as set out in section 8, if we don't, our total liability for any booking is limited to the price you paid for it, plus the cover in section 8 for the goods. If you're a business, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profit or missed deadlines.
  3. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law. If you're a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

11. Complaints

Email bookings@courierspeed.co.uk with your booking reference. We aim to reply within two working days.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you're a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
